5 Key Changes Coming to Dubai in November

Dubai never stands still, and November is no exception. From stricter traffic regulations to new perks for travellers and spectacular construction projects, the city has a host of changes in store. Here are five important updates you should know about.

New Traffic Rules for Delivery Riders on the Road

From 1 November, delivery riders on motorcycles will no longer be permitted to use the fast lanes on major roads. On roads with five lanes or more, the two leftmost lanes are off-limits for these riders. On roads with three or four lanes, they may not use the leftmost lane. Only on roads with two lanes or fewer are there no restrictions. This measure has been implemented by Dubai Police and the RTA to improve road safety.

FlyDubai Makes Flying More Comfortable for Everyone

Good news for travellers: FlyDubai is introducing new benefits for all economy passengers. From November, meals and snacks are included, as is access to over 1,000 films and series during the flight. Extra charges for food or entertainment are now a thing of the past. The menus are even inspired by the destinations the airline serves. This change is the result of customer feedback and FlyDubai's growth plans.

New Record: The World's Tallest Hotel is Coming to Dubai Marina

Opening in Dubai Marina in November 2025, the Ciel Hotel will become the world's tallest hotel at 377 metres. It will surpass the current record held by the Gevora Hotel. The Ciel Hotel promises unique experiences, such as the world's highest infinity pool, a high-altitude club, and the Tattu Dubai restaurant on the 74th floor. The infinity pool will be on the 76th floor and a lounge on the 81st floor. Reservations open on 15 November.

Flag Raising on UAE Flag Day

On 3 November at 11:00, the flag will be raised in honour of UAE Flag Day, a moment celebrated grandly in the lead-up to National Day. The popular Flag Garden returns to Umm Suqeim Beach, and various festivities will take place across the city, coordinated by Brand Dubai.

Road Closures for the Dubai Fitness Challenge

The annual Dubai Fitness Challenge will again lead to traffic adjustments this month. The campaign runs from 1 to 30 November and includes events such as the Dubai Ride on 2 November and the Dubai Run on 23 November. During these events, Sheikh Zayed Road will be temporarily closed in the mornings. Expect delays and plan your journey accordingly.
