Have you lost your Emirates ID, or is it damaged or stolen? Don’t worry: you can now apply for a replacement card in around half an hour using the UAEICP app.
Here you will find the complete and up-to-date guide, including required documents, costs, and delivery times.
Step 1: Report the Loss at an ICP Customer Happiness Centre
Before you can do anything online, you must physically report that your ID is lost, stolen, or damaged at an ICP Customer Happiness Centre. Here, your old card will be deactivated to prevent misuse.
Take with you:
Original passport and a copy
Copy of your residence visa
Recent passport photo (white background)
If available: copy of your old Emirates ID (front and back)
Centre locations can be found at: icp.gov.ae/en/customer-happiness-centers
Step 2: Online Application via the UAEICP App
Download the UAEICP app (iOS/Android) and log in with UAE Pass for automatic filling of your details. If you do not have a UAE Pass, you can also register with your email.
How it works:
Search for “Replace Emirates ID for Residents”
Start the application
Fill in your details step by step:
User details (pre-filled via UAE Pass)
Identification details: ID number, reason (lost, stolen, or damaged)
Personal info: nationality, place of birth, occupation, etc.
Signature (any changes require an extra visit to ICP)
Passport details and contact information
Choose delivery address (home, office, or collection point)
Upload your documents and photo according to ICP specifications. Please note: incorrect photos will cause delays.
Costs for Replacing Your Emirates ID
The total cost is AED 451.40 (approximately €117 / £100):
AED 300: card fee
AED 122: ICP processing fee
AED 29.40: e-service fee
You can pay immediately by card or choose “pay later”. After payment, you will receive an application number.
Step 3: Track Your Application
Visit smartservices.icp.gov.ae and enter your application number in the “Quick Search” to track your application status. You will see which stage your application is at, from review to dispatch.
Step 4: Receive Your New Card
You will receive an SMS from Emirates Post or Zajel once your card is ready. For home delivery, they will schedule a delivery time. To collect from an office, you will need your application number and identification.
Important: The replacement card retains the original expiry date. If your old card was due to expire in 3 months, your new card will also expire at that time.
